On 1st November, St George Abadan Lodge No. 6058 witnessed something truly remarkable—a ceremony unlike any most of us had ever seen. In an unforgettable moment for the Lodge, two brothers (Bro Matt & Peter Callaway)—siblings in every sense—were Raised side by side in a beautifully delivered double Third Degree ceremony.

The work was expertly conducted by our Worshipful Master, W. Bro. Tony Jacobs, supported by our Treasurer, W. Bro. David Hiscock, and myself in the role of Director of Ceremonies. As if a double Third were not already a considerable undertaking, the challenge was heightened by the unavoidable absence of several key officers. Yet, in the finest spirit of Freemasonry, Brethren stepped forward without hesitation to ensure the ceremony was carried out with dignity, harmony, and precision.

Adding to the emotional significance of the occasion, the newly Raised Master Masons were joined by their other siblings, who attended to witness this once-in-a-lifetime milestone. Their presence added warmth, pride, and a genuine sense of family unity to an already extraordinary afternoon.

The celebrations continued at the festive board, where the room was filled with conversation, laughter, and the unmistakable joy of a Lodge sharing an important moment in its history.

This was a day we will long remember—a reminder of the enduring strength of brotherhood, both in Masonry and in family.
