WHY Become a freemason?

Throughout 300 years of heritage and history, our members have come from all walks of life and each with their own unique story to tell for why the became a Freemason. 

As one of the oldest social and charitable organisations in the world, we have a thriving community of approximately 175,000 members throughout England and Wales, as well as Districts overseas. Freemasons use four key values to help define their path through life: IntegrityFriendship, Respect, and Service.

Membership is open to people from all backgrounds and our aim is to empower members to be the best they can be.

  • Exit the M2 at Junction 3
  • Follow signs for A229 Chatham
  • Continue on A229. Take Maidstone Rd to Manor Rd
  • At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Maidstone Rd/A229 continue for 0.4 miles
  • Turn right to stay on A229 continue for 243 ft
  • Turn left onto Horsted Way/A230 continue for 0.2 miles
  • Continue onto Maidstone Rd continue for 1.6 miles
  • Turn right onto Railway St continue for 230 ft
